Early Intervention in Psychosis Workshop 2007:

The Ontario Working Group on Early Intervention in Psychosis invites front-line clinicians, consumers, and family members of consumers to attend this workshop intended to provide education and networking opportunities for individuals involved in Early Intervention.
This two-day event will feature a Ministry of Health and Long Term Care showcase, Keynote addresses, and small group workshops. The Ministry showcase will be an opportunity for attendees to be informed about relevant provincial initiatives from key players in the Provincial Mental Health Division. Break out sessions will afford attendees the opportunity to discuss topics of central importance to the fast growing field of Early Intervention in Psychosis and gain practical knowledge about providing and navigating EIP services. As in previous years, networking and resource sharing among attendees will be encouraged and facilitated.

Pre-Workshop Institute more info

The topic for the pre-workshop institute is Recovery in Early Intervention in Psychosis.
Keynote Speaker: Christine Gayler - an internationally recognized consultant and trainer in mental health recovery
During the morning all attendees will have the opportunity to hear recovery stories from consumers and families.
The afternoon sessions will feature practical workshops for attendees to network with their peers (i.e. clinicians, consumers, and family members will have separate workshops). Clinicians will discuss how they work in EIP programs using a recovery orientation. Consumers and family members will have the opportunity to share their experiences and gather resources that may facilitate recovery in themselves and others.
Registration
Service providers, consumers, and family members are invited to attend both the Institute day and the Workshop days. However, attendees may opt to attend only one of the events – Institute or Workshop.

Location
The Pre-Workshop Institute will be held at 89 Chestnut Street in Toronto, Ontario.
The Provincial Workshop will be held at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel located at 1 Harbour Square in downtown Toronto, Ontario.
